Based on the movie with the same name, Kung Fu Panda is a third-person action adventure game in which you take the role of a giant panda named Po who starts on a quest to become the Dragon Warrior.
Having the Furious Five trained by master Shifu as his kung fu idols, Po dreams that one day he will join their ranks and protect his home, the Valley of Peace, from any evil that might threaten its inhabitants.
Become a martial arts expert
Unlike the movie where Po has no clue about martial arts, in the game he starts with a few basic skills that will help him beat up his opponents and solve a few quests.
Advancing through the story will also grant Po the possibility to improve these skills and learn special moves as well as new fighting techniques to easily deal with more powerful foes.
Furthermore, you will also be able to use various weapons and objects during fighting to increase your chances of survival.
Multiple playable characters
As you progress through the game, you will also unlock various playable characters, including: Master Shifu as well as all the members of the Furious Five (Master Tigress, Master Monkey, Master Viper, Master Mantis, and Master Crane).
Although Po is the main character of the game, some missions will require to take control of another character to complete various tasks.
Play it along with your friends
Besides the single player story, Kung Fu Panda also features a multiplayer mode that allows up to four players to engage in co-op or versus modes on the same computer. Unfortunately, the game doesn't feature an online multiplayer mode, so you'll have to invite your friends over if you want them to join you.
Before starting a new multiplayer game, you can choose from a wide range of characters that you've previously encountered in the single player campaign.
Should I play it?
Kong Fu Panda is mostly a game for children, but if you've enjoyed the movie you'll surely enjoy playing the game. While the single player campaign will keep you interested for a while, the lack of an online multiplayer mode might not appeal to everyone.
